Maria Eugénia Macedo, professor of FEUP and member of ALiCE and LSRE-LCM, will celebrate next year 40 years since her PhD. To mark the date, and in recognition of the scientific contributions to the advancement of the field of thermodynamics, the prestigious Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data (JCED), of the American Chemical Society, will dedicate a special edition, scheduled to be published in the summer of 2024.
The Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data has been publishing several special editions dedicated to relevant topics in the field of Chemical Engineering, as well as honouring researchers who have made important contributions throughout their scientific careers. Maria Eugénia Macedo’s scientific research has significantly impacted the understanding and advancement of experimental measurement and thermodynamic modelling of thermophysical properties and phase equilibrium.
Submission of manuscripts for this next issue is open until December 1, 2023, focusing on the area of measurement/modelling of thermophysical properties and phase equilibrium.
The LSRE-LCM is pleased to invite all its members to attend a seminar on “Heterogeneous Photocatalysis for Solar Fuels” by Dr Valérie Keller. The seminar will take place on June 23, 2023, from 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm, in room E107. The abstract for the seminar can be accessed here. This is a valuable opportunity for all LSRE-LCM members to gain insights into cutting-edge research and engage in meaningful discussions with a renowned expert in the field of photocatalysis.
Dr Valérie Keller, from ICPEES - Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, Environment and Health, is the head of the Team “Photocatalysis and Photoconversion”. Dr Keller’s main research activities concern photocatalysis, specifically the synthesis of nanomaterials for environmental, energy and health applications. Her extensive contributions to the field include over 125 publications in peer-reviewed journals, more than 100 oral communications at international conferences, and the authorship of 16 patents. In recognition of her outstanding work, she was awarded the 1st Price of the Strategic Reflection by the French prime Minister in 2013.
