Luís S. Pais received the diploma and the PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), in 1991 and 1999, respectively. He received the first award CUF-FCT for the best PhD thesis in Chemical Engineering for the period 1999-2001. He is member of LSRE-LCM since 1999. Luís S. Pais became a Teacher Assistant at the School of Technology and Management (ESTiG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) in 1992 and Adjunct and Coordinator Professor in 2000 and 2005, respectively. At ESTiG, he was President of the Scientific Council (2000-2004) and Coordinator of the Chemical Technology Department (1998-2002 and 2004-2006). Currently, he is Vice-President of IPB for Academic Affairs and International Relations (since 2006).
