L.M. Pastrana Martínez (Auxiliary Researcher) graduated in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science of the University of Jaén (Spain) in 2004. She finalized her PhD degree in Environmental Chemistry in 2010 at the same institution (EU mention). After the PhD, she gained post-doctoral experience hired within the framework of European FP7 project at the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2011. In 2012, she was granted with a Postdoctoral fellowship from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) in Portugal. She became Auxiliary Research at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in June 2015. She has a long experience in the preparation and characterization of carbon-based composites for water treatment. She has also expertise in the field of photocatalytic conversion of CO2 into renewable fuels using solar radiation. She is co-author in more than 100 publications including 35 papers in international SCI journals, 3 book chapters, 2 publications in a peer reviewed national journals, 2 international journal covers and over 70 communications in conference proceedings. She is team leader of an ongoing Portuguese project (Photocatalytic membranes for CO2 conversion to hydrocarbon chemical fuels- IF/01248/2014).
