Elson Dinis Gomes earned his PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. His Masters in Chemical Engineering was also obtained from the same institution. Soon after his graduation, he started working in the lignin group in the Agro-Food Valorization research unit, more specifically with lignin valorization. His research focuses on the separation and purification of added-value compounds from the oxidative depolymerization of lignin and process improvement.
