Ana S. Oliveira holds a degree in Biochemistry from Faculty of Sciences and Technology - University of Coimbra, a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto, and a PhD in Biotechnology, with a specialization in Environmental Science and Engineering from Biotechnology School (ESB) of the Portuguese Catholic University, or UCP. Currently, she works at LSRE-LCM as a researcher on the antibiotic resistance in wastewater treatment systems field. Her main research interests include the effect of chiral antibiotics on antibiotic resistance in wastewater, wastewater treatment and valorisation, multitrophic aerobic granular sludge, functional dynamics of microbial communities. She has several papers in peer reviewed international scientific journals and communications in scientific international and national conferences. Ana has been engaged in editing and reviewing activities in indexed international scientific journals. She has been team member of national and international projects, all devoted to the treatment and valorisation of wastewater, and her work led to 2 provisional applications for international patents. She has been involved in the supervision and co-supervision of MSc students and undergraduate students’ projects. Ana S. Oliveira has also been dedicated to teaching practical classes at undergraduate and post-graduate levels and has been involved in the dissemination of science activities to the wider public.
