Hugo Rocha Peixoto holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Brazil (2013), and a Master of Engineering from the same institution (2016). He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UFC in 2020, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Sebastião Lucena.

In 2019, he began his career as an Assistant Professor at the Federal Institute of Ceará (IFCE), Brazil. He has been an active member of the Adsorption Separation Research Group (GPSA – Grupo de Pesquisa em Separações por Adsorção), based in Fortaleza, Brazil, since 2010.

His main research interests include fundamental adsorption measurements, characterization of adsorbent materials, modeling and simulation of cyclic adsorption processes, and process intensification.
