Lucília S. Ribeiro completed her MSc degree in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 2012. With a Ph.D. grant financed by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), she completed her Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering at FEUP in 2017, in the area of catalytic conversion of biomass by hydrolytic hydrogenation. Her thesis was approved with Praise and Distinction (Cum Laude) and was distinguished with the Portuguese Young Chemists Award (Young Chemists Group, Portuguese Chemical Society) and the Best Ph.D. Thesis in Catalysis – Ramôa Ribeiro Award (Division of Catalysis and Porous Materials, Portuguese Chemical Society). From 2017 to 2025, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at LSRE-LCM, in the area of synthesis of fine chemical products with high-value from the catalytic conversion lignocellulosic biomass. Since 2025, Lucília S. Ribeiro is an assistant professor at FEUP.
