Sandra Mendes Miranda is a Junior Researcher at LSRE-LCM. She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP, 2025), as well as a Master’s (2009) and a Bachelor’s degree (2007) in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB).
Her doctoral research focused on heterogeneous photocatalysis for air treatment, particularly on the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and on the intensification of photocatalytic processes through innovative photoreactor design.
Her scientific contributions include 17 publications in high-impact journals, reflecting her expertise in photocatalytic air purification and reactor engineering. Sandra is currently involved in the Mobilizing Agenda for Business Innovation – Alliance for Energy Transition, leading the development of innovative membrane systems for ammonia valorization.
