António M. Peres graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 1993 and, in that same year, started his post-graduate studies in the Department of Chemical Engineering at FEUP, where in 1998 he obtained his degree of Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. In 1996 he joined the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) as Teaching Assistant, being since 2010 Assistant Professor at IPB.
