Ramiro Martins graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 1991 and joined the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering of IPB as Teaching Assistant. He received a master degree in Environment Technology from the University of Braga in 1995 and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Porto, in 2004. His research interests are in treatment of heavy metal contaminated waters by biosorption with low cost adsorbents, wastewater treatment by wetlands and environmental engineering. He also acts in the water and wastewater market in a small company (design, management and sales).

RESEARCH INTERESTS
