Luis Aires graduated in Environmental Engineering at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2001. Between 2001 and 2003 he worked as project manager at Leirijardins – Construção e Manutenção de Espaços Verdes, lda. In 2007 he obtained his Ph.D in Environmental Sciences at the Aveiro University, in the field of micrometeorology – exchange of carbon dioxide, water vapor and energy between the atmosphere and the biosphere. Since 2008 he has been Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. He held the position of course coordinator of undergraduate degrees in the field of Environmental Engineering between 2010 and 2018. He is member of the LSRE-LCM since 2018 and has performed service provision in air quality monitoring.
