Jonathan Gonçalves da Silva graduated in Chemical Engineering at the University Simón Bolívar in Venezuela in 2006; after an internship in Y&V Engineering and Construction, he joined their Process Department as Project Engineer. He was involved in several engineering, procurement, and construction projects including refinery, sulfuric acid, liquid extraction, oil dehydration, polyethylene production plants, among others. In 2011 he came to the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2015 entitled Hybrid Separations and Adsorption/Reaction Processes: The Case of Isomerization/Separation of Xylenes. From that point forward he has been a postdoctoral researcher carrying on his work on aromatics.
