Marta Pedrosa integrated the research team at Associate Laboratory LSRE-LCM (Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto - FEUP) in 2014, to work on Advanced Oxidation Processes for water treatment (AOPs). One year later, she was awarded a FCT doctoral grant (SFRH/BD/102086/2014) and part of her thesis was conducted at the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" in Athens (Greece). She concluded, with a Cum Laude distinction, her PhD (September 2019) in Chemical and Biological Engineering at FEUP, with a thesis entitled “Graphene-based catalytic membranes for water treatment”. In 2020, her thesis received the label of International PhD on AOPs. Currently, she is an invited reviewer for several international journals and a Junior Researcher under the Concurso Estímulo ao Emprego Científico Individual - 5.ª Edição - 2022.00192.CEECIND, (CEEC 5th edition), at LSRE-LCM, working in her project - Waste valorization towards the synthesis of graphene-based 2D bio-membranes for water treatment and selective gas separation, with Professor Adrián M.T. Silva.
