Dr. Cátia Graça graduated in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2011) and obtained her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (2017).

Her research focuses on advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) and the development of catalytic materials for water treatment, with emphasis on catalytic ozonation, green catalysts from waste valorization, and eco-friendly membrane systems. Her work aims to integrate circular economy principles into water purification technologies and environmental remediation. She currently serves as Principal Investigator of the exploratory project DIFCATO₃ – Development of Catalytic Diffusers for Ozone Water Treatment (https://doi.org/10.54499/2023.11502.PEX), which pioneers a dual-function device for catalytic ozonation reactions. Dr. Graça has authored over 60 scientific outputs, including 31 peer-reviewed journal papers in top-tier journals such as Chemical Engineering Journal, Water Research, and Catalysis Today, with an h-index of 15 and > 550 citations (Scopus ID: 57191537208). Her work has also resulted in a provisional patent, several international conference communications, and numerous invited lectures and workshops in Portugal and Brazil. She serves as Guest Editor for Water and Environments, member of the Early Career Editorial Board of Water (MDPI), and reviewer for more than 20 international journals.

She has actively contributed to research capacity building through the supervision of undergraduate, MSc, and Ph.D. students, as well as research fellows. Her international collaborations—particularly between Portuguese and Brazilian research institutions—have strengthened joint research networks and facilitated the exchange of scientific expertise.
