Raquel O. Cristóvão graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) in 2006, and got her PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering under the field of enzymatic catalysis and wastewater treatment in 2010, at the same institution. From 2010 she worked as Post-Doc Researcher at LSRE-LCM deepening her knowledge on industrial effluents treatment and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). In September 2018, R.O. Cristóvão earned a Junior Researcher position under DL57 programme and started an original research line at LSRE-LCM in the fast growing area of nanobiotechnology. Raquel O. Cristóvão research scientific interests include nanobiotechnololgy, biocatalysis, enzymes, biomolecules purification, enzyme immobilization and nanomaterials. These scientific interests are developed with the goal of improving society standards, by providing innovative and sustainable processes and products. Since January 2022 she is an Assistant Researcher at FEUP.
R.O. Cristóvão co-authored more than 100 publications, including ISI indexed papers, book chapters, communications in scientific conference proceedings and 1 encyclopedia entry. She has been involved in several funded R&D projects and in the supervision of MSc and PhD students and project researchers. She regularly participates as jury member of MSc theses and acts as referee in international scientific journals.
