Liliana P. L. Gonçalves graduated in Biological Engineering from the University of Minho in October 2016 and has been working on the development of nanomaterials for adsorption and heterogeneous catalysis since then. She obtained her PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) with the thesis entitled "CO2 Methanation over bimetallic catalysts supported on carbon materials with tailored surface properties". Her PhD work was developed at the LSRE-LCM group at FEUP and at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), with two short research stays at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU-Denmark) and CRISMAT (France). After that, she has been working as a researcher at the LSRE-LCM, FEUP, on the project Move2LowC - Biologically based fuels.

Liliana has published 10 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals and has several oral and poster communications in national and international conferences. Additionally, she is an active member of the Young European Catalysis Network.

Her research is focused on the development of improved catalysts for CO2 valorization and their study and characterization.
