Waterfisher allows to collect water samples safely

December 20, 2017

A team of five researchers from LSRE-LCM  João Sousa (Granted Researcher),  Marta Barbosa (PhD Student), Ana Rita Ribeiro  (Post-doctoral Researcher), Adrián Silva  (Associate Researcher) and Fernando Pereira  (Associate Professor) created the Waterfisher, a surface water sampler.

The Waterfisher allows the collection of water samples from places with difficult access (e.g. lakes, cliffs and canyons) without the need for an aquatic transportation.
At the moment this technology has already a validated prototype in real context of an operational environment. The innovative character of the invention has allowed advancement to a Portuguese patent application.

LSRE-LCM congratulates his researchers team for the succecfully idea market!

Science & Technology Week 2017

November 20-24, 2017

A new edition of the Science & Technology Week 2017 is taking place at Department of Chemical Engineering - FEUP.

LSRE-LCM researchers together LEPABE and CEFT organized a series of visits to the laboratories under the motto “Technological advances in emerging fields of Chemical, Environmental and Biotechnology   Engineering”.

The event was attended by MIEQ, MIEA and MIB students and also by some high school students.
