May 25, 2023

Mariko Carneiro, PhD student at LSRE-LCM under the supervision of Professor Cidália Botelho and Doctor Ariana Pintor, won the Poster Presentation Award at the 4h International Conference for Bioresource Technology for Bioenergy, Bioproducts & Environmental Sustainability (BIORESTEC 2023), held in Lake Garda, Italy, in May 14th to 17th, 2023, with the communication entitled " New insights on antimony removal from water using iron-coated cork granulates: regeneration on batch and fixed-bed column systems".

Congratulations Mariko!

PhD Student Samara Silva member of Organising Committee of Young Algaeneers Symposium

May 22, 2023

Samara Silva, PhD student at LSRE-LCM under the supervision of Professors Filomena Barreiro (CIMO, IPB) and Madalena Dias, was a member of the Organizing Committee at the 7th edition of The Young Algaeneers Symposium (YAS). The symposium, held at the University of Algarve in Faro, Portugal, from May 9th to 11th, 2023, had an impressive participation of over 150 attendees.

YAS is a unique event designed and organised ‘By & For’ Young Algaeneers, with the support of the European Algae Biomass Association (EABA), addressing all aspects of algal research and technology. The symposium's overall objective is to empower young researchers in academia and industry by fostering strong connections and collaborations among various stakeholders in the algal community. By providing a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration, YAS plays a vital role in shaping the future of algal research and technology.

Great work Samara!
