Joana Matos, PhD student at LSRE-LCM, was invited for a round table of the meeting organized by the FCT: Advanced Computing Portugal 2030: Progress achieved and new challenges.
This meeting aimed at debating the national supercomputing strategy, the current status of the utilization of the supercomputer at Minho and the roadmap for the FCT/MACC – Minho Advanced Computing Center and the Portuguese participation in the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking– European High Performance Computing. Among others, the meeting had interventions from the Minister of Science Manuel Heitor, the European Commission Deputy Director General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology Khalil Rouhana, the director of FCT program INCoDe2030 Nuno Freixa Rodrigues, and the Director of MACC Rui Oliveira.
LSRE-LCM has been actively engaged in the utilization of supercomputing resources, since its origins, and it shares the vision that the future of chemical engineering science in Europe is strongly dependant on the success of this initiative.
The Mini Symposium NanoPurAsp (9 to 10 November, 2020) will take place within the 2nd year of the NanoPurAsp project - Development of sustainable nanomaterials for the purification of antileukemic drugs (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-031268), coordinated by CICECO - University of Aveiro in collaboration with LSRE-LCM/FEUP (Cláudia G. Silva and Joaquim L. Faria) and São Paulo State University.
The Mini Symposium NanoPurAsp will address themes mostly related to the production and purification of biopharmaceuticals.
