LSRE-LCM at 16th Science Fair of the University of Porto :: LSRE-LCM at 16ª Mostra U.Porto

The 16th edition of Science Fair of the University of Porto "16ª Mostra da Universidade do Porto" is taking place at ICBAS/FFUP (near Palácio de Cristal) started with great expectation of the students.

From April 12 to 15, the general public and in particular school-age children may find and experience the high quality of the university education/courses provided by the U.Porto and the highlight for research carried out in different scientific areas.

Representing one of the Research Centers of the University of Porto, the Associate Laboratory LSRE-LCM has interactive activities of scientific experimentation and demonstration focused on pre-university participants but also for recent graduates who wish to pursue studies in the field of chemical engineering.

According to the organization's data, until now are confirmed 96 schools representing 5355 students accompanied by 357 teachers. Although are expected around 15.000 visitors of all ages till 19:00 pm on Sunday, the official closing day of this U.Porto activity.

Raquel Pinto Rocha PhD Thesis Defense

LSRE-LCM congratulates Raquel Pinto Rocha for her PhD thesis defense approved by the jury.

On 28th March 2018 Raquel finished her Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled Carbon Catalysts for Liquid Phase Reactions, supervised by Prof. José Luís Figueiredo and Prof. Fernando Pereira.

The supervisors are extremely proud of the hard work developd by Raquel during the last years as well as the team and staff of LSRE-LCM!

We wish the best luck for the beginning of this new professional stage at LSRE-LCM.
