Project "Aprendizagem Ativa em Aula Invertida: O Laboratório como Espaço de Fusão de Novos Paradigmas de Ensino" awarded "Projetos de Inovação Pedagógica" by University of Porto

February 3, 2020

The jury of the call “Projetos de Inovação Pedagógica”, promoted by Universidade do Porto within the programme “Promover a Excelência Pedagógica“ awarded the project proposed by Inmaculada Velo Gala, Eliana Sousa Da Silva, Joaquim Luís Faria, Cláudia Gomes Silva, Maria José Sampaio and Rita Ruivo Marques.

The project "Aprendizagem Ativa em Aula Invertida: O Laboratório como Espaço de Fusão de Novos Paradigmas de Ensino" aims at developing students’ learning skills and fostering their school performance, namely at the course ‘Fundamentos de Química I’. A web application (App) will be developed to serve as a didactic tool to be used by the students, through which they can acquire knowledge and skills at their own pace, previous to the classroom/laboratory sessions. This methodology is framed under the flipped classroom model, which affords conditions for a more active role of students in their own learning process and a more engaged attitude in the classroom/laboratory. Teachers have then more time available to interact with each student helping on the improvement of their results.

The project will be presented to the academic community at the Annual Workshop on “Inovação e Partilha Pedagógica da Universidade do Porto” scheduled for February 3rd and 4th at the Faculty of Economy (FEP).
