The 4th Baldyga Technical Seminar was held on July 3 - 4, 2025, at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP). Co-organized by LSRE-LCM/ALiCE members Ricardo Santos, Margarida Brito, Isabel Fernandes, and Isabel Barbosa, the event brought together PhD students and researchers to share technical experiences, address challenges, and exchange knowledge on mixing processes in chemical reactors.

Several LSRE-LCM PhD students and researchers were also part of the organizing committee, including Elham Delvar, Inês Oliveira, Laura Cullen, Margarida Peixoto, Maria Teresa Oliveira and Sofia Brandão. Moreover, Madalena Dias and José Carlos Lopes, both member of LSRE-LCM, provided essential support for the seminar. Joelle Aubin (Laboratoire de Génie Chimique - Toulouse), chair of the EFCE Working Party on Mixing, also participated in the seminar and kindly contributed as a tutor during the workshop sessions.

This gathering was organized in collaboration with the EFCE Working Party on Mixing and with the support of the Portuguese Chemical Society.

Alexandre Ferreira, Assistant Professor at FEUP and member of LSRE-LCM/ALiCE was a guest of 90 Segundos de Ciência (Antena 1) on June 12, 2025.

In this episode, Alexandre talked about the SWMOF project, which aims to develop an intelligent water distribution system based on an adsorption-based water production unit that uses metal-organic networks.
