LSRE-LCM congratulates André Torres Pinto for his PhD thesis defense on December 18, 2023. André finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled "Optimised 2D Carbon Materials Activated by Artificial Light and Electrical Current for Catalytic Water and Wastewater Treatment" supervised by Professor Adrián Silva, Professor Cláudia Silva and Professor Joaquim Faria.

The staff and team of LSRE-LCM wish André Torres Pinto success in the new professional stage that will now begin!

The II Iberian Photocatalysis Conference took place at FEUP on November 7^th and counted roughly 100 participants (assisting at FEUP and online). The Conference was chaired by Cláudia Gomes da Silva and was organized by the Iberian Photocatalysis Association with the support of the Industrial Chemistry Group of the Portuguese Chemical Society and LSRE-LCM.

Students, researchers, representatives of companies, local authorities, and research institutes, mainly from Portugal and Spain could share knowledge and experiences about photocatalysis as a technology that can contribute significantly to meeting the objectives of environmental policies and promoting a model of sustainable economic development.
