Samara Silva, PhD student at LSRE-LCM under the supervision of Professors Filomena Barreiro (CIMO, IPB) and Madalena Dias, was a member of the Organizing Committee at the 7th edition of The Young Algaeneers Symposium (YAS). The symposium, held at the University of Algarve in Faro, Portugal, from May 9th to 11th, 2023, had an impressive participation of over 150 attendees.
YAS is a unique event designed and organised ‘By & For’ Young Algaeneers, with the support of the European Algae Biomass Association (EABA), addressing all aspects of algal research and technology. The symposium's overall objective is to empower young researchers in academia and industry by fostering strong connections and collaborations among various stakeholders in the algal community. By providing a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration, YAS plays a vital role in shaping the future of algal research and technology.
Great work Samara!
The LSRE-LCM research group is proud to announce that eleven of its researchers were recognized in the Research.com thematic rankings for 2023. Among the 482 Portuguese researchers highlighted in the rankings, these LSRE-LCM team members were recognized for their exceptional contributions to their respective fields.
The rankings consider several analysis criteria to evaluate the researchers, with emphasis on the number of citations and the D-Index (Discipline H-index). The D-Index measures the interdependence between authors and their research environment, considering the history of their scientific publications. In addition, the researchers' number of publications and a comprehensive list of their awards and achievements are also taken into account.
