Pedro Velho, PhD student at FEUP and member of ALiCE and LSRE-LCM, supervised by Professor Eugénia Macedo, was a guest of 90 Segundos de Ciência (Antena 1) on March 28^th.

In this 63^rd episode, Pedro talked about the synthesis of bio-based solvents, such as choline-amino acid ionic liquids, and their application for the extraction of antioxidants from biowaste and for the removal of pharmaceutical pollutants from contaminated water bodies.

LSRE-LCM congratulates Júlia Kessler for her PhD thesis defense on March 28, 2025. Júlia finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled Supercritical CO2 extraction and continuous production of Moringa oleifera microcapsules: A scalable approach for natural-based cosmetic formulations, supervised by Professor Filomena Barreiro (CIMO/IPB), Professor Madalena Dias and Professor Alírio Rodrigues.
