Salomé Soares, principal researcher and representing the research team constituted by Fernando Pereira, Carla Orge, Raquel Rocha, Mariana Felgueiras and Rita Querido, members of LSRE-LCM, received an honourable mention in the context of the application of the SusCO2 project - Towards carbon circularity: sustainable conversion of CO2 to fuels and chemicals. The award ceremony of the José Manuel de Mello Scholarship 2024 - Entrepreneurship, awarded by the Amélia de Mello Foundation, took place at the Belém Cultural Center on June 28, 2024, and the diploma was presented by His Excellency, the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The Cost Action Water4Reuse - Mainstreaming water reuse into the circular economy paradigm, has been recently approved by the Cost European Cooperation in Science and Technology. This project, set to run from 2024 to 2028, aims to revolutionize water management through interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration.
LSRE-LCM researchers Vítor Vilar and Ana Rita Ribeiro will serve as members of the Management Committee, contributing with their expertise to the project’s success.
Water4Reuse seeks to integrate the entire wastewater treatment chain to enhance water management. The project will focus on: recycling and reusing treated wastewater and by-products, addressing territorial, health, social, economic, and environmental constraints and promoting sustainable practices through innovative solutions.
This initiative represents a significant step towards sustainable water resource management and the circular economy.
