Carla Pereira finished her PhD degree at LSRE-LCM in 2009 on Process Intensification for the Green Solvent Ethyl Lactate Production based on Simulated Moving Bed and Pervaporation Membrane Reactor, under the supervision of Prof. Alírio Rodrigues and Doctor Viviana Silva (now at BASF). She continued as Post-Doctoral researcher from 2009-2013, and in 2013 she was awarded a FCT Researcher contract.
In July 2014 she joined ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company in Newark, NJ, USA, where she is currently Section Head working on research and development of new solvent technology for use in the gas industry.
We are very proud of Carla's research and technological career and path as a LSRE-LCM and FEUP alumnus.

Cláudia Gomes Silva participated in the webinar dedicated to the presentation of the new webpage of the Iberian Association of Photocatalysis (AIF), last June 15. The event counted with the participation of Pedro Duque, Minister of Science and Innovation of Spain, and by Prof. José Antonio López and Dr. Daniel González Muñoz, from the Univeridad Autónoma de Madrid.
Cláudia Gomes Silva, which is currently the vice-president of AIF, talked about Photocatalysis in Portugal and announced the launching of the Portuguese version of the White Book of Photocatalysis, which will take place in July during the XXVII National Meeting of the Portuguese Chemical Society.
