LSRE-LCM congratulates Joana Pesqueira for her PhD thesis defense on April 17, 2023.

Joana finished the Doctoral Program in Environmental Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled "Catalytic Water Treatment Life Cycle Assessment" supervised by Professor Adrián Silva and Professor Fernando Pereira.

The staff and team of LSRE-LCM wish Joana success in the new professional stage that will now begin!

To celebrate 50 years of Catalysis in Portugal, a historical account of Catalysis research and teaching activities in Portugal by Professor José Luís Figueiredo, Emeritus Professor at FEUP and member of ALiCE and LSRE-LCM, was published in the journal Química (Chemistry) of the SPQ - Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (Portuguese Chemical Society). This article recalls several pioneering initiatives and events that contributed to the consolidation of the discipline and highlights the creation of the Catalysis Division of SPQ (current Division of Catalysis and Porous Materials), 30 years ago.
