Mariana Miranda PhD thesis defense

LSRE-LCM congratulates Mariana Miranda for her PhD thesis defense on April 10, 2023.

Mariana finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled "Behavior and attenuation of microplastics in environmental compartments" supervised by Professor Fernando Pereira and Professor Adrián Silva.

The staff and team of LSRE-LCM wish Mariana success in the new professional stage that will now begin!

PhD Student Maria Amélia Barros wins Poster Presentation Award

April 4-5, 2023

Maria Amélia Barros, PhD student at LSRE-LCM under the supervision of Professor Joaquim Faria, Professor Cláudia Gomes and Doctor Maria José Sampaio, won 2nd place in the Poster Presentation Awards at the 15th National Physical Chemistry Meeting (15ENQF), held online in April 2023, with the communication entitled "Graphite carbon nitride coated cotton for photocatalytic self-cleaning and antimicrobial applications".
