Joana finished the Doctoral Program in Environmental Engineering, with the PhD thesis titled Advanced pre-treatment techniques of waste activated sludge: A pathway to energy-neutral wastewater treatment plants, supervised by Vítor Vilar and Maria Alcina Pereira (U.Minho)
