WaterTOP COST Action Core Group Meeting

October 25-28, 2021

A COST Action WaterTOP Core Group Meeting (www.watertopnet.eu), held on October 25-28, 2021, was hosted by Rita Lado in Porto. The agenda included the following topics:

  • Analysis and monitoring of water Taste & Odour, from GC-MS to sensors;
  • Water treatment to remove T&O;
  • Development of T&O compound databases for labs and water managers;
  • Sensory analysis and further development of the “Water Taste & Odor Wheel” as a web-page app.

The opening and welcome session counted with the presence of Prof. Arminda Alves on behalf of ALiCEA total of 26 participants from Portugal, Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Romania, Turkey, Norway, and Israel, attended the meeting. Many other colleagues from several countries have also participated in the meeting (virtually) and attended the plenary sessions by Zoom (sessions can be found in the WaterTOP YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbJxkuaw8jnsQOPbHhfdUSg)

Andreia Ribeiro PhD thesis defense

LSRE-LCM congratulates Andreia Ribeiro for her PhD thesis defense approved by the jury.

Andreia finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled Nanohydroxyapatite Pickering emulsions: from product development to functional ingredients in food applications supervised by Professor Madalena Dias, Professora Filomena Barreiro (CIMO/IPB) and Professora Isabel Ferreira (CIMO/IPB).

The staff and team of LSRE-LCM wish Andreia success for the new professional stage that now begins!
