LSRE-LCM congratulates Jéssica Antunes Xavier for her PhD thesis defense approved by the jury.

Today, Jéssica finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled "Granulação e estabilidade de lodo granular aeróbio desenvolvido em reatores em bateladas sequenciais operados em diferentes condições operacionais" supervised by Rejane Helena Ribeiro da Costa from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and Principal Researcher Doctor Vítor Jorge Pais Vilar.

The staff and team of LA LSRE-LCM wish Jéssica success for the beginning of the new professional stage!

LSRE-LCM Alumnus Carla Pereira receives SCI Gordon E. Moore Medal

July 2, 2021

Carla Pereira finished her PhD degree at LSRE-LCM in 2009 on Process Intensification for the Green Solvent Ethyl Lactate Production based on Simulated Moving Bed and Pervaporation Membrane Reactor, under the supervision of Prof. Alírio Rodrigues and Doctor Viviana Silva (now at BASF). She continued as Post-Doctoral researcher from 2009-2013, and in 2013 she was awarded a FCT Researcher contract.

In July 2014 she joined ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company in Newark, NJ, USA, where she is currently Section Head working on research and development of new solvent technology for use in the gas industry.

We are very proud of Carla's research and technological career and path as a LSRE-LCM and FEUP alumnus.

Congratulations Carla!
