12th D students Isabel Soares Oliveira, Maria Cardoso Toga, Nuno Teixeira Aroso and Vasco Teixeira Cardoso won first prize in the Eureka! competition with their project, titled CLEA. Their project was made in collaboration with the LSRE-LCM researchers Yaidelin Manrique, Isabel Martins and Cláudia Gomes da Silva.

The competition, part of the UBI Science and Innovation Meeting 2024 as part of Science and Technology Week, took place on 23 November 2024 and challenged young minds to think in innovative and sustainable ways.

LSRE-LCM congratulates Daniela Morais for her PhD thesis defense on November 15, 2024. Daniela finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled "Innovative (photo) electrocatalytic technologies for the sustainable oxidation of organic compounds" supervised by Doctor Vítor Vilar, Doctor Carlos Tavares and Doctor Francisca Moreira.
