Joana finished the Doctoral Program in Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the PhD thesis entitled "Photocatalytic synthesis of imines: Novel routes to ever-new molecules" supervised by Professor Cláudia Silva, Professor Joaquim Faria and Doctor Maria José Sampaio.
