Luiza Sena, PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering at LSRE-LCM/ALiCE and LEPABE/ALiCE, presented her innovative “FertiGo” process at the 2nd Deep Tech Academic Spin-offs event, held at FEUP.

The process proposes a novel approach for fertilizer production from wastewater, transforming waste streams into economic value. Her presentation attracted strong interest from both investors and academics, leading to an invitation to apply for the 2026 Conception X programme in the UK.

This participation highlights the impact of LSRE-LCM research in driving sustainable technologies with high innovation potential.
